Ankur is our vocational training program through which we help our older students become as independent as possible. In Ankur, we provide direct instruction in the following areas:
- independent living skills such as dressing, proper hygiene, cooking, house cleaning and shopping;
- leisure activities such as dancing, skating and group sport activities so that the students will know how to use free time appropriately; and
- vocational skills including jewellery, coasters and gift bag making, so that one day, the students may be able to find sustainable employment.
- Job training and data entry skills training.
In 2014, Ankur significantly expanded it’s scope and efforts. The students are now learning mosaic pottery skills, hand block printing and creation of various other handicrafts.
