The Ashish Centre, our school for children and adolescents ages 3-18, is located in Dwarka, West Delhi. We provide a well-rounded, holistic education with individualized development plans that support the student in his or her uniqueness and needs. It is person centred and based on the roles the student can take in the society. Our goal is that each of our student become contributing members of the larger society.
Early intervention through education is a key component in giving children with disabilities more opportunities to succeed, mature, and grow.
In order to better support our students, we maintain a high teacher-to-student ratio (1 special educator for every 4 students, and 1 adult for every 2 students). We base these ratios on developed-country standards for children having the same types of disabilities as our students.
As per each student’s needs, the individualised education may include:
- Functional academic skills
- Adapted curriculum corresponding to the topics studied in typical schools
- Speech/language therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Activities of daily living
- Pre-vocational skills
- Social skills
